What is Nitomortar TC2000?
Nitomortar TC2000 is a two-component epoxy resin-based sealing and repair material designed for sealing cracks in structural materials such as concrete, particularly in corrosive environments. It can also be used as a pore sealer to smooth horizontal and vertical surfaces before applying Nitocote, Nitoflor Epoxy, or Urethane coating systems. Additionally, it is suitable for tile bonding and bedding applications.
Nitomortar TC2000 Key Features
Non-sagging consistency, suitable for vertical surfaces
Can be used to fill surface voids and blowholes
Excellent adhesion to various substrates
Smooth paste consistency for easy application and surface finishing
Good chemical resistance
High bonding strength
Can be overcoated with epoxy coating systems
Nitomortar TC2000 Product Characteristics
Nitomortar TC2000 is a two-component, thixotropic, solvent-free epoxy material supplied in pre-measured quantities ready for mixing. Once cured, it forms a water-impermeable surface that is ready for subsequent coating applications. The standard color is grey.
Surface Preparation
The substrate must be thoroughly cleaned to remove contaminants such as:
Dust
Loose or unsound materials
Contaminants
Plaster
Oil
Paint
Grease
Rust deposits
Algae and moss
Surface preparation should be carried out using high-pressure water jetting or light abrasive blasting. The surface should then be thoroughly cleaned to remove any remaining dust and debris.
Multiple-Coat Applications
If multiple coats are required, the next coat can be applied approximately 2–8 hours after the first coat at 25°C.
At higher temperatures, this interval will be shorter.
If the specified recoating interval has been exceeded, follow these steps:
Sand the surface of Nitomortar TC2000 using sandpaper.
Remove dust with a clean cloth.
Wipe the surface clean using Fosroc Solvent 102.
Apply the subsequent coat.
Alternatively, the first coat can be roughened or provided with a “Scratch Key” while the material is still wet to improve the mechanical adhesion of the subsequent coat.
