Brushbond Product Description
Brushbond is suitable for sealing water storage tanks, reservoirs, bathrooms, balconies, and basements, as well as sealing air vents, cracks, and defects, and providing a uniform finish to concrete surfaces.
Uses
Fosroc Brushbond is a Flexible Cementitious Waterproofing system developed to prevent water penetration and to fill and seal pores and voids in masonry and concrete. It is suitable for the following applications:
Planter boxes
Reservoirs and water storage tanks
Decorative fountains
Toilets, bathrooms, and kitchens
Basements
Retaining walls and tunnels
Concrete drainage channels
Advantages
Requires minimal surface preparation
Can be applied directly to concrete and masonry surfaces
Excellent adhesion to both porous and non-porous substrates
Breathable properties allow water vapor from inside the building to escape
Flexible and capable of accommodating thermal expansion similar to that of concrete
Excellent performance in preventing localized water leakage through masonry and blockwork walls
High resistance to the diffusion of carbon dioxide gas, chlorides, and ions
Self-curing properties eliminate concerns about premature drying
Description
Brushbond is a two-component acrylic polymer-modified cementitious waterproofing coating (Two-Component Acrylic Polymer Modified Cementitious Coating).
The product consists of specially selected cement, graded hard aggregates, and additives in powder form, combined with a liquid component containing acrylic copolymers and wetting agents.
The acrylic polymer provides Brushbond with excellent adhesion, toughness, strength, and durability.
When the two components are mixed together, they form an easy-to-apply waterproofing coating that can be applied using a stiff-bristled brush, roller, or spray equipment to achieve the desired surface finish.
Chemical Resistance
Brushbond provides excellent resistance to wear and weathering, as well as good chemical resistance, particularly to mild inorganic solutions, chlorides, water-soluble salts, and wastewater treatment effluents.
In addition, Brushbond can prevent water penetration under hydrostatic pressure. Test results demonstrate that it can withstand hydrostatic pressure equivalent to a water head of up to 7 meters.
The level of resistance to hydrostatic pressure depends on the thickness of the waterproofing coating and the characteristics of the substrate.
