SikaFiber®-1218 PPM

SikaFiber®-1218 PPM is a monofilament microfibre made from 100% polypropylene, with a fibre length of 12 mm. It is used as an admixture in concrete and mortar to help reduce shrinkage cracking, improve durability, and enhance the properties of cementitious materials in non-structural applications.

SikaFiber®-1218 PPM Applications

Suitable for concrete and cementitious mortars requiring reduced shrinkage cracking, such as:

• Concrete slabs on ground

• Screeds and concrete toppings

• Wall plastering and rendering applications

• Precast concrete elements

• Sprayed concrete and mortar applications

• Extruded concrete applications

• Interior and exterior applications

The product is suitable for non-structural cementitious applications and cannot be used as a replacement for structural steel reinforcement.

Mixing Method

It is recommended to:

1. Add the fibres together with the dry aggregates.

2. Distribute the fibres evenly throughout the mixture.

3. The fibres may also be added after the other components have been placed in the mixer, but additional mixing time is required to ensure uniform fibre distribution.

Important Precautions

• Use with good-quality concrete or mortar.

• These fibres cannot compensate for poor-quality concrete or mortar.

• Compatible with Sika concrete admixtures.

• Do not use as a replacement for structural steel reinforcement.
