Triflex ProTect Fully Fleece-Reinforced Liquid-Applied Roof Waterproofing System for Surfaces and Construction Details
Triflex ProTect is a liquid-applied roof waterproofing system based on PMMA resin and fully reinforced with fleece throughout the entire system. It is designed to prevent water leakage across roof surfaces, including construction details and connection points. The system can be used as an exposed waterproofing layer or beneath gravel, paving slabs, and green roof systems. It is suitable for both new construction and refurbishment of existing roofs.
Key Features of Triflex ProTect
Fully fleece-reinforced waterproofing system that enhances strength and durability
Highly flexible, capable of accommodating movement and dynamic crack expansion
Resistant to weathering, UV radiation, and infrared radiation
Resistant to mechanical stresses and chemicals
Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, making it suitable for refurbishment and repair applications
Can be applied at substrate temperatures as low as approximately 0°C
The system can achieve full service performance within approximately 1 hour
High resistance to hydrolysis, making it suitable for areas exposed to standing water
Helps extend intervals between roof maintenance and repair cycles
Suitable Applications for Triflex ProTect
Triflex ProTect is suitable for various waterproofing applications, including:
Flat roof surfaces
Gravel-covered roofs
Roofs covered with paving slabs
Green roofs and rooftop planting areas
Waterproofing beneath protective covering layers
Joints in watertight concrete structures
Decorative fountains and ponds
Water storage tanks and areas exposed to standing water
Refurbishment of existing waterproofing systems
Areas subjected to mechanical stresses or continuous weather exposure
Suitable for Areas Exposed to Standing Water
Triflex ProTect offers high resistance to hydrolysis, making it suitable for areas continuously exposed to water or where standing water may occur, such as decorative fountains, water storage tanks, and roof areas with slow drainage.
However, system design and the selection of material layers must be based on actual service conditions and the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Standards and Certifications
Triflex ProTect has European Technical Approval and CE marking. According to the manufacturer, the system complies with the requirements of DIN 18195 Parts 4–7 and DIN 18531 Parts 1–4 for building and roof waterproofing applications.
In addition, the system has been tested for root resistance in accordance with FLL guidelines and EN 13948, making it suitable for use as part of green roof waterproofing systems.
Product Colors
Triflex ProTect is available in the following standard colors:
Gravel Grey
Light Grey
Traffic Grey
The roof surface coating offers high mechanical strength, and the color can be selected to suit the roof design or protective covering materials specified for the project.
Considerations Before Installation
The substrate must be sound, clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, or other materials that may reduce adhesion performance. Substrate compatibility should be verified, the appropriate primer selected, and fleece reinforcement details determined according to the manufacturer’s system specifications.
Joints, corners, roof edges, drainage outlets, and penetrations must be continuously integrated with the main waterproofing layer to create a seamless system and minimize the risk of long-term water leakage.
