    Bituthene 3000 Product Description

Bituthene 3000 and BITUTHENE® Low Temperature are self-adhesive rubberized asphalt/polyethylene waterproofing membranes suitable for elevated decks, parking structures, basements, tunnels, and other below-ground applications.

BITUTHENE® 3000 and BITUTHENE® Low Temperature membranes from GCP Applied Technologies (“GCP”) combine a flexible, strong, durable, high-performance, preformed cross-laminated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) carrier film with a highly adhesive rubberized asphalt compound specifically designed to bond to cured concrete surfaces.

    Advantages

    • Specifically designed to provide a barrier against water, moisture, and gas, physically isolating the structure from the surrounding environment.

    • The cross-laminated film is dimensionally stable, offering high tear strength, puncture resistance, and impact resistance.

    • Cold-applied system – eliminates flame hazards. Self-adhesive overlaps are designed to ensure waterproofing membrane continuity.

    • The membrane is designed to resist most soil conditions, providing effective protection against aggressive soils and groundwater.

    • Flexible – elongation exceeding 300% helps accommodate minor settlement and shrinkage.

    • Controlled thickness – factory-manufactured sheets ensure consistent and uniform application.

    • Optional integrated RIPCORD® split-release feature – allows easy membrane positioning and installation around detailed areas.

    • Wide application temperature range:

      1. BITUTHENE® Low Temperature membrane: Suitable for application when substrate and ambient temperatures are between 25°F (-4°C) and 60°F (16°C).

      2. BITUTHENE® 3000 membrane: Suitable for application when substrate and ambient temperatures are 40°F (5°C) or higher.
