Sarnafil TG 66-20 Membrane 2.0 mm Thick
Sarnafil TG 66-20 is a single-ply roofing waterproofing membrane manufactured from high-quality flexible polyolefin (FPO). It features a multi-layer structure reinforced with non-woven glass fiber to enhance dimensional stability and reduce deformation caused by external environmental conditions. Manufactured in accordance with EN 13956, it is suitable for roofing waterproofing applications requiring durability and a long service life.
The membrane can be effectively joined using hot-air welding, providing strong and continuous seams. It also offers excellent resistance to UV radiation, severe weather conditions, and temperature fluctuations, making it suitable for use in various climates worldwide.
Sarnafil TG 66-20 is specially designed for loose-laid and ballasted roofing systems, such as gravel-covered roofs, concrete-paved roofs, and green roofs. It can also be used for detailing around joints, wall edges, skylights, and other roofing components requiring precise waterproofing.
Its manufacturing process helps minimize internal stresses within the membrane, while its multi-layer structure provides excellent resistance to delamination. This reduces the risk of water absorption and separation of material layers while ensuring high dimensional stability, making it suitable for roofing applications requiring long-term stability.
Applications of Sarnafil TG 66-20
Sarnafil TG 66-20 is suitable for use as a waterproofing membrane beneath ballast materials such as gravel, concrete paving slabs, green roof systems, or usable rooftop areas. It can be applied to various roofing applications, including:
Loose-laid roofing systems and roofs covered with paving materials
Green roofs
Rooftops used as multipurpose areas, such as terraces, recreational decks, or parking areas
Inverted roofs
Waterproofing around joints, wall edges, parapets, skylights, and various roofing details
Used in conjunction with Sarnafil TS 77 and TG 76 systems for roofing details requiring a neat finish and long-term durability
Key Features of Sarnafil TG 66-20
Excellent resistance to UV radiation and outdoor weather conditions, making it suitable for long-term applications
High flexibility, even in cold weather or low-temperature conditions
Reinforced with non-woven glass fiber to enhance dimensional stability
Good resistance to impact and abrasion
Easy hot-air welding with strong welded seams
Reduces the risk of material delamination and water absorption
Compatible with existing bituminous or asphalt surfaces
Recyclable material
Suitable for roofing applications requiring high-performance waterproofing systems with easy maintenance
Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be:
Smooth
Even
Free from sharp edges or burrs
Clean
Dry
Free from grease and dust
The supporting materials must be compatible with the membrane and resistant to solvents
Metal sheets should be degreased using Sikaplan® Cleaner before applying the adhesive. sarnafil-tg-66-18ap
Installation Method
The membrane can be installed using two main methods.
1. Loose-laid + Ballast
Install the membrane using the loose-laid method
Use ballast materials such as green roof systems, screeds, or pavers according to the wind load design requirements
2. Fully Adhered
Bond the membrane using Sarnacol® 2152
The underside of the membrane must be activated according to the specified procedure to ensure proper adhesion to the adhesive. sarnafil-tg-66-18ap
Junctions and Flashing
At roof junctions and flashing areas, the membrane can be bonded to substrates such as:
Reinforced concrete
Rendered surfaces
Timber boards
Metal sheets
Using Sarnacol® T 660.
