Premium Cementitious Tile Adhesive for Natural Stone, Porcelain Tiles, and Applications Requiring Reduced Efflorescence
SikaTile®-560 XL Stone Guard is a premium-quality cementitious tile adhesive specially designed for installing natural stone tiles, porcelain tiles, and large-format tiles requiring high bonding strength. It also helps reduce the formation of white salt deposits, or efflorescence, on tile surfaces and joints.
The product is supplied as a ready-mixed, one-component cementitious tile adhesive consisting of cement, specially graded sand, and specialized performance-enhancing additives. It requires only the addition of water at the specified mixing ratio before application, making tile installation convenient, fast, and efficient while ensuring a neat finish.
SikaTile®-560 XL Stone Guard is suitable for both floor and wall tile installations, indoors and outdoors. It is also suitable for areas with high humidity or frequent water exposure, such as fountains, building signage, columns, staircases, bathrooms, and outdoor areas subjected to frequently changing environmental conditions.

For applications over existing tiles or waterproofing systems, substrate strength, cleanliness, and suitability should be verified before starting work to ensure maximum bonding performance.

Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be:
Structurally sound
Clean
Free from oil stains
Free from dirt and contaminants
Properly leveled
Additional requirements:
Previously painted surfaces must be mechanically abraded to expose at least 80% of the original substrate
New concrete should be cured for at least 28 days
Newly applied render with a thickness of 1 cm should be cured for at least 7 days
The substrate should be pre-dampened with water to reduce water absorption before tile installation
Mixing Method
Use 20 kg of SikaTile®-560 XL Stone Guard.
Add 5.0–5.6 liters of clean water.
Use a low-speed mechanical mixer.
Mix until a smooth, homogeneous consistency is achieved.
Allow the mixture to stand for approximately 2–3 minutes.
The adhesive is then ready for application.

Application Method
Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive onto the substrate.
Position the tiles onto the adhesive.
Gently tap the tiles with a rubber mallet to ensure firm contact.
For tiles larger than 25 × 25 cm, it is recommended to apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the tiles as well.
Allow approximately 24 hours, or until the adhesive has dried, before grouting.
