    What is Sikadur®-42 TH?

Sikadur®-42 TH is a three-component, solvent-free, castable epoxy resin grout consisting of high-strength epoxy resin and specially graded aggregates. When mixed, it forms a highly flowable mortar suitable for grouting applications and filling various gaps and voids.

    Main Applications of Sikadur®-42 TH

This product is a high-strength, self-leveling, and non-shrink grouting material suitable for:

    • Grouting beneath bridge bearing plates

    • Machinery foundations

    • Anchoring bolts and anchors

    • Crane rails

    • Reinforcing steel applications

    • Filling cavities or voids in concrete

    Key Features of Sikadur®-42 TH

    –

    • Solvent-free

    • Excellent flowability, even in thin layers

    • Rapid curing, depending on the grade used

    • Suitable for both dry and damp substrates

    • Cures without shrinkage

    • High humidity does not affect curing

    • High mechanical strength

    • High toughness and vibration resistance

    Substrate Preparation

    The substrate must be:

    • Clean

    • Free from standing water

    • Free from loose materials

Cement laitance should be removed by mechanical methods, such as sandblasting. sikadur_-42_th

    Mixing Method

    1. Mix Components A and B for at least 1 minute.

    2. Use a low-speed drill at no more than 400 RPM.

    3. Add Component C.

    4. Continue mixing until a homogeneous, free-flowing mortar is obtained. sikadur_-42_th

    Application Method

For grouting beneath bearing plates, sufficient pressure or head must be maintained to ensure continuous grout flow, and adequate openings must be provided to allow trapped air to escape.

For large-volume applications, the grout should be poured in multiple layers, allowing each previous layer to harden and cool before pouring the next layer.
