    Sika Crete® Micro SCC UW

Self-Compacting Micro-Concrete for Underwater Structural Repairs

SikaCrete® Micro SCC UW is a pre-packaged cementitious micro-concrete specially designed for underwater concrete structural repair applications. It has self-compacting concrete properties, allowing the material to flow and penetrate repair areas effectively without requiring extensive vibration like conventional concrete.

The product is designed to generate low heat and provide a suitable working time for on-site conditions, making concrete placement and handling more convenient, particularly in underwater structural repairs requiring continuous and precise application.

When properly mixed and placed, SikaCrete® Micro SCC UW helps reduce cement washout during underwater applications, producing strong, highly flowable concrete with good dimensional stability. It is suitable for large-scale reinforced concrete structural repairs using the tremie placement method.

Applications of Sika Crete® Micro SCC UW

SikaCrete® Micro SCC UW is suitable for large-scale underwater concrete structural repair applications, such as:

    • Underwater reinforced concrete structural repairs

    • Underwater concrete placement using the tremie method

    • Bridge pier repairs

    • Repairs of columns or supporting structures

    • Pile repairs

    • Dam repairs

    • Underwater structural applications requiring highly flowable, self-compacting materials

    • Large-scale repair applications requiring high strength and long-term durability

Key Features of Sika Crete® Micro SCC UW

    • Pre-packaged micro-concrete, ready for use after mixing with water at the specified ratio

    • Specially designed for underwater applications

    • Self-compacting properties allow the material to flow effectively into repair areas

    • Reduces cement washout during underwater placement

    • Excellent flowability, making it suitable for complex or difficult-to-access areas

    • Good dimensional stability

    • Provides high compressive strength and consistent material quality

    • Non-toxic and non-corrosive material

    • Easy to use, helping simplify procedures and improve repair efficiency

    • Cost-effective and suitable for large-scale structural applications

    • Low heat generation, making it suitable for large-volume placements or areas requiring temperature control

    Mixing Method

    • Use a mechanical Plough Share Type Concrete Mixer

    • Mixing time: approximately 4 minutes

    • Another section of the product documentation specifies the use of a Mechanical Forced Action Mixer

    • Maximum mixing speed: approximately 500 rpm

    • The mixing process should be organized to ensure continuous, uninterrupted concrete placement

    Underwater Placement Method

The material can be placed using:

    • Tremie Pipe

    • Flexible Tube with a minimum diameter of 50 mm sikacrete_micro_sccuw

    Important steps:

    1. Initially position the pipe outlet at the lowest point of the formwork.

    2. As the pipe is gradually raised, its outlet must remain submerged in the fresh micro-concrete at all times.

    3. Allow the fresh concrete to displace water from the bottom upward.

    4. Control the flow to prevent water from becoming trapped within the material.

    5. The formwork must be tightly sealed and watertight.
