What is Sikadur®-42 MP Slow HC?
Sikadur®-42 MP Slow HC is a three-component, multipurpose epoxy grout with moisture-tolerant properties, designed for application at temperatures ranging from approximately +20°C to +40°C.
Main Applications of Sikadur®-42 MP Slow HC
Suitable for high-strength grouting and anchoring applications, such as:
Reinforcing steel, bolts, anchors, and steel rods
Bollards, fence posts, and handrails
Under baseplates and machinery foundations
Light and heavy machinery, including equipment subjected to impact and vibration
Bridge bearing supports and mechanical joints
Railway sleepers, railway tracks, and crane rails
Key Features of Sikadur®-42 MP Slow HC
High early compressive strength
Supplied in ready-to-mix kits
Moisture tolerant
Non-shrink
Resistant to corrosion and chemicals
Resistant to impact and stress
High compressive strength
High vibration resistance
Low coefficient of thermal expansion
Substrate Preparation
Concrete and mortar should be more than 28 days old. The substrate must be sound, clean, dry or slightly damp, and free from:
Dust
Oil
Grease
Coatings
Loose cementitious materials
Standing water
Steel surfaces should be prepared to Sa 2.5 standard. sikadur-42-mp-slowhc
Mixing Method
Mix Components A and B for approximately 30–60 seconds.
Use a low-speed drill at approximately 300–450 rpm.
Pour the mixture into a suitable container.
Gradually add Component C.
Continue mixing for approximately 3 minutes.
Allow the mixture to stand for 2–3 minutes to reduce entrapped air bubbles.
Avoid excessive mixing that may introduce too much air into the mixture. sikadur-42-mp-slowhc
Application Method
Use properly sealed, leakproof formwork.
PE film or wax can be used as a release agent to prevent the grout from bonding to the formwork.
It is recommended to pour the grout from only one side or two sides to minimize air entrapment.
The grout level should be approximately 3 mm above the underside of the baseplate.
The clearance beneath the baseplate must be at least 12 mm.
If the gap exceeds 150 mm, the grout should be poured in layers, allowing the previous layer to cool and harden before applying the next layer.
