Aquelroof UV1500 Product Description
Aquelroof UV1500 is a flexible, single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing waterproofing membrane. The membrane is reinforced with an internal polyester fiber mesh, providing additional strength and durability. It is classified as a synthetic polymer waterproofing membrane. Homogeneous (unreinforced) waterproofing membranes are also used in roofing applications where preformed TPO accessories are not suitable.
Features
Excellent resistance to aging and high dimensional stability
High mechanical performance, including tensile strength, tear resistance, and puncture resistance
Smooth surface with high solar reflectivity, contributing to improved energy efficiency
Resistant to high and low temperatures, maintaining flexibility at low temperatures and mechanical strength at elevated temperatures
Good chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, and microbial growth
Environmentally friendly product
Application
Substrate Preparation
– The substrate must be structurally sound and free from voids, cavities, spalled concrete, loose aggregates, and sharp protrusions. Contaminants such as grease, oil, and wax must be removed from the surface. Dust, dirt, loose stones, and debris must also be thoroughly cleaned. Concrete must be properly cured for at least 7 days for normal structural concrete and 14 days for lightweight structural concrete.
– All holes and cavities must be properly prepared and filled with a suitable repair mortar to achieve a smooth and level surface. Mortar joints must be finished flush with the surrounding surface.
– The supporting substrate must be strong, stable, and free from movement. Cementitious materials must not be applied over movement joints or reinforced concrete block walls with unfilled block cavities.
Application
– The TPO waterproofing membrane is installed using the loose-laid method over a suitable substrate, forming a continuous roofing or waterproofing layer across the entire roof area.
– Membrane rolls must be laid with sufficient overlap at both side laps and end laps before the seams are joined using the heat welding method.
