SikaProof 612 C
Waterproofing Membrane for Underground Structures and Foundations
SikaProof®-612 C is a pre-applied, fully bonded waterproofing membrane system designed for underground structures, foundations, basement floors, and basement walls requiring effective protection against water penetration.
The product consists of a multi-layer composite membrane, with an HDPE polymer layer serving as the primary waterproofing barrier. It also incorporates a special functional layer that creates both chemical and mechanical bonds with concrete. When installed before concrete placement, the membrane forms a strong and continuous bond with the concrete structure.
A key advantage of SikaProof®-612 C is its ability to reduce the risk of water migration or lateral water movement between the membrane and the concrete surface. This makes it suitable for below-ground waterproofing applications or areas not directly exposed to the atmosphere, where long-term waterproofing protection is required.
Applications of SikaProof 612 C
SikaProof®-612 C is suitable for waterproofing underground structures, such as:
Foundation waterproofing
Basement floor waterproofing
Basement wall waterproofing
Concrete structures located below ground level
Areas requiring waterproofing membranes that are not directly exposed to the atmosphere
Pre-applied waterproofing installation before reinforcement placement and concrete pouring
Key Features of SikaProof 612 C
Pre-applied waterproofing membrane system for underground structures
Installed before reinforcement placement and concrete pouring
Provides strong chemical and mechanical bonding to concrete
Helps prevent water migration between the concrete and waterproofing membrane
Manufactured with a highly durable HDPE membrane layer
White membrane surface improves visibility during installation and facilitates inspection
Good chemical resistance
Good impact resistance
Easy to install, with no additional protection layer required in certain application systems
Good dimensional stability, reducing the risk of membrane deformation
Double-lap joint system with a self-adhesive strip on the reverse side for enhanced joint sealing
Substrate Preparation
The substrate must be:
Sufficiently stable
Well compacted
Smooth
Uniform
Clean
The substrate may be damp or slightly wet, but must be free from standing water. sikaproof-612-c
Installation Method
On horizontal or inclined surfaces: Install using the loose-laid method
On vertical surfaces: Mechanical fixing is required
Overlaps and cross joints must be sealed with adhesive tape
Details and joints should be installed in accordance with the SikaProof system requirements
Construction joints must use the specified Sika Joint system. sikaproof-612-c
Important Limitations
Installation should be carried out by trained or experienced contractors
Do not install during continuous rainfall, snowfall, or sandstorms
The substrate must be free from standing water
Penetrations and construction joints require additional joint sealing systems, such as SikaSwell®
Concrete quality and placement procedures directly affect the achievement of a fully bonded membrane system
Do not use in structures where the membrane will be permanently exposed to UV radiation
