Nitobond SBR Product Description
Nitobond SBR is used to modify and improve the bonding performance of concrete repair mortars, floor toppings, screeds, waterproof renders, and cementitious slurries. Mortars and cementitious slurries prepared with Nitobond SBR can be used for horizontal, vertical, and overhead repairs and are suitable for permanent immersion. Nitobond SBR can also be used to prepare bonding slurries for waterproof bricks, ceramic tiles, and similar materials.

Nitobond SBR offers resistance to hydrolysis, making it suitable for use with cement in both interior and exterior applications.
Design Criteria (Design Criteria)
The application requirements and conditions for mortars modified with Nitobond SBR may vary depending on the mortar formulation and actual mixing proportions.
However, mortars incorporating Nitobond SBR can generally be applied at the following layer thicknesses:
Horizontal Applications: Mortar can be applied at a maximum thickness of 40 mm.
Vertical Applications: Mortar can be applied at a maximum thickness of 15 mm.
For overhead applications without formwork, the achievable mortar thickness depends primarily on the characteristics and condition of the substrate.
Where thicker mortar layers are required for vertical or overhead applications beyond the limits specified above, the material can be applied in multiple layers.
However, in certain cases, the required mortar thickness may be achieved in a single application, depending on the size and geometry of the repair area and the amount of exposed reinforcement within the repair zone.
Mortars modified with Nitobond SBR should not be applied at thicknesses below 6 mm.
For applications requiring mortar thicknesses of up to 40 mm in a single application, formwork may be used to support the material.
