High-Performance Cementitious Tile Adhesive for Large-Format and Low-Water-Absorption Tiles

SikaTile®-360 XL is a high-performance, polymer-modified cementitious tile adhesive specifically designed for installing large-format tiles. It is supplied as a ready-mixed, one-component product that is easy to use, requiring only the addition of water at the specified mixing ratio before application.

The product consists of cement, graded sand, and various performance-enhancing additives that improve bonding strength, ease of spreading, and tile adjustment time. It is suitable for tile installation applications requiring strong, secure adhesion, a neat finish, and reduced risk of tiles becoming detached over time.

SikaTile®-360 XL is suitable for large-format tiles, including granite tiles, low-water-absorption tiles, granite, marble, and natural stone. It can be used for both floor and wall applications, indoors and outdoors, including installation over cementitious substrates and waterproofing systems in bathrooms, kitchens, or wet areas requiring particularly reliable adhesion.

Applications of Sika Tile 360 XL

SikaTile®-360 XL is suitable for various tile installation applications, such as:

• Installation of large-format tiles up to 100 × 100 cm

• Low-water-absorption tiles, such as granite tiles and porcelain tiles

• Granite, marble, and certain types of natural stone

• Floor and wall tile installation

• Interior and exterior applications

• General cementitious substrates

• Tile installation over waterproofing systems, such as in bathrooms and kitchens

• Installation of ceramic or terracotta tiles in small swimming pools with water pressure not exceeding 0.15 bar

For wall tile installations involving tiles larger than 60 × 60 cm or applications over waterproofing systems, it is recommended to consult the technical team before starting work to assess substrate suitability and the appropriate installation system.

Mixing Method

1. Add clean water at the specified mixing ratio.

2. Mix using a mechanical mixer until a smooth, homogeneous consistency is achieved.

3. Allow the mixture to stand for approximately 2–3 minutes.

Application Method

• Use a notched trowel to spread the adhesive onto the substrate.

• Position the tiles onto the adhesive.

• Gently tap the tiles with a rubber mallet to ensure firm contact.

• For tiles larger than 25 × 25 cm, it is recommended to apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the tiles as well.
