Sikafloor®-29 PurCem® LP Polyurethane Mortar
High-Strength Mortar for Cove Bases and Detailing Applications
Good chemical resistance to a wide range of organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, amines, salts, and solvents. Please refer to the Chemical Resistance Chart or consult the local Technical Department.
Specially designed for trowel application on vertical surfaces.
Has a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to concrete, allowing it to move with the concrete substrate under normal temperature fluctuations. The material maintains stable properties at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +140°C.
Mortar prepared using Sikafloor®-29 PurCem® LP can tolerate moisture vapor transmission of 12 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft., when tested according to ASTM F 1869 using the anhydrous calcium chloride test method.
Rapid curing allows pedestrian traffic after 12 hours and full service after 2 days, reducing downtime and enabling faster reopening of production lines.
Seamless flooring system that does not require additional expansion joints. Existing expansion joints can be maintained through the Sikafloor®-PurCem® flooring system.
Easy to maintain.
Suitable for application at temperatures between +10°C and +35°C.
Applications
Sikafloor®-29 PurCem® LP is used in combination with other PurCem® products for concrete applications involving vertical rendering, cove bases, and detailing in areas subjected to high abrasion and chemical exposure, such as:
Food processing facilities, including wet areas, cold storage areas, and areas subjected to sudden temperature changes
Chemical manufacturing facilities
Testing laboratories
Research laboratories
Suitable for concrete protection against physical resistance (Principle 5, Method 5.1 according to EN 1504-9)
Suitable for concrete protection against chemical attack (Principle 6, Method 6.1 according to EN 1504-9)
Application on properly prepared steel substrates with stable structural support, such as:
Exposed areas and steel decks
Elevated walkways or platforms
Features / Benefits
Good chemical resistance to a wide range of organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, amines, salts, and solvents. Please refer to the Chemical Resistance Chart or consult the local Technical Department.
Specially designed for trowel application on vertical surfaces.
Has a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to concrete, allowing it to move with the concrete substrate under normal temperature fluctuations. The material maintains stable properties at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +140°C.
Bond strength exceeds the tensile strength of concrete (in the event of failure, tensile failure will occur in the concrete before adhesive failure).
Non-tainting and odorless.
Contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
High mechanical resistance. Under impact loading, the material exhibits plastic deformation, allowing localized deformation without cracking or delamination.
Slip-resistant properties with a naturally textured surface that provides good traction.
Good abrasion resistance due to the silica aggregates incorporated into the material.
Suitable for application on concrete aged 7 to 10 days, provided the surface has been properly prepared and has a tensile strength of at least 1.5 N/mm² (218 psi). Mortar prepared using Sikafloor®-29
