System Structure Summary
The Mapecoat TNS Multisport FT system consists of the following main layers:
Substrate: Concrete or a surface prepared according to the specified system
Primer: Mapecoat TNS Primer EPW or Triblock P
Filler Base Coat: Mapecoat TNS Extreme, applied in 2 coats
Finishing Coat: Mapecoat TNS Extreme SF
Line Marking: Mapecoat TNS Line Seal or Mapecoat TNS Extreme SF
The product documentation specifies the following products used in the system: Mapecoat TNS Primer EPW, Triblock P, Mapecoat TNS Extreme, Mapecoat TNS Extreme SF, and Mapecoat TNS Line Seal for line marking applications.
Surface Preparation
Before installing the system, the substrate must be inspected to ensure its suitability for the intended application. Concrete substrates should be cured for at least 28 days, be free from rising moisture, have a residual moisture content not exceeding 3%, be dry, smooth, and free from loose or delaminated materials, and have sufficient slope for rainwater drainage.
Bituminous or asphalt substrates should be cured for at least 15–20 days. The surface must be dry, smooth, free from loose or delaminated materials, and have an appropriate slope for drainage. If the concrete substrate does not have a moisture vapor barrier, delamination or blistering of the coating system may occur.
Concrete substrates should be prepared using suitable mechanical methods, such as shot blasting or diamond grinding, to remove contaminants, weak cement paste, and unsound materials. The surface must then be thoroughly vacuum-cleaned before applying the system. If the substrate has a residual moisture content not exceeding 3%, Mapecoat TNS Primer EPW should be used. However, if the residual moisture content is between 3% and 6%, Triblock P should be applied as a moisture barrier according to the specified system.
Performance Data Summary
Mapecoat TNS Multisport FT has a wet slip resistance value of at least 55 according to EN 13036-4. It is suitable for exterior applications in accordance with EN 1504-2 requirements. It also demonstrates low color variation after 1,000 hours of Weather-O-Meter testing across several colors, such as green, blue, red, and white, with ΔE values below 0.5 according to the product documentation.
The Mapecoat TNS Extreme SF coating layer within the system also demonstrates abrasion resistance according to EN ISO 5470-1, with a weight loss of less than 3 grams, and Class II chemical resistance to oils and fuels according to EN 13529.
Precautions
The substrate must be inspected for strength, dryness, smoothness, and adhesion before installation
Concrete substrates must be free from rising moisture
If the substrate has a residual moisture content of 3–6%, Triblock P should be used as a moisture barrier
Severely damaged asphalt substrates should be removed and repaired using suitable materials before installing the system
Ambient temperature during application should be between +10°C and +35°C
Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point
Follow the Technical Data Sheet of each product used in the system
For applications involving substrates or environmental conditions that differ from those specified in the documentation, consult the MAPEI Technical Department before proceeding
