Nitocote EP405 Product Description
Nitocote EP405 is a waterproof, gas-resistant coating suitable for retaining walls and underground foundation structures, as well as construction joints, to maintain continuity of waterproofing and protection against ground gases. It forms part of a waterproofing and ground gas protection solution that complies with BS 8102:2009 and BS 8485:2015. It provides continuous waterproofing and ground gas protection in areas where sheet membrane products cannot be applied. It can also be used in conjunction with sheet membranes from the Proofex product range.
As a protective coating, it is suitable for lining and waterproofing potable water-retaining structures* and surfaces in contact with food. The cured film is resistant to corrosion, chemicals, and abrasion, making it suitable for use in basements, tunnels, water storage tanks, silos, reservoirs*, water treatment plants*, breweries, dairies, and meat and food processing facilities. The cured film is non-toxic and complies with the requirements of BS 6920 (*see “Limitations”).

Product Description (Description)
Nitocote EP405 is a high-gloss, non-toxic epoxy resin coating based on solvent-free epoxy resin containing pigments and fine fillers.
The product is supplied as a two-pack material, with the components pre-measured in the correct proportions and ready for mixing and application on-site.
Nitocote EP405 can be applied to both dry and damp substrates. Application in 2 coats is generally recommended to achieve a total dry film thickness (DFT) of 400 microns.
The product is available in blue and white to facilitate visual inspection and ensure complete and uniform coverage of each coat.

Product Specification (Specification)
The non-toxic epoxy resin coating shall be Nitocote EP405, a protective coating with 100% solids content and a solvent-free formulation.
The coating shall be moisture-tolerant and, once fully cured, suitable for use on surfaces in contact with potable water.
In addition, the product shall provide excellent adhesion and a high level of chemical resistance.
