Sarnavap®-5800 SA
Sarnavap®-5800 SA is a self-adhesive, multi-layer vapour barrier manufactured from reinforced polyethylene combined with an aluminum foil layer. The underside is coated with hot-melt adhesive and protected by a removable release film, allowing convenient, fast installation and excellent adhesion to substrates.
Applications of Sarnavap®-5800 SA
Suitable for use as a vapour barrier in roofing systems and building wall applications. It can be installed on common substrates such as:
Steel roofs and metal sheets
Plywood
Timber boards
OSB boards
Timber surfaces
Sloped or vertical surfaces
Flashing and roofing system details
It can also be used as a temporary waterproofing layer during construction for up to 2 weeks, provided that adequate slopes and drainage systems are installed.

Precautions
Must not be used as a permanent waterproofing layer Must not be used as a substitute for roof coverings or roofing membranes Not suitable for fully adhered roofing systems Avoid direct contact with incompatible materials Install without stretching or tensioning the membrane The substrate and roofing system must have sufficient structural strength and be designed to withstand wind uplift loads Substrates other than those specified must be approved by Sika before application

The substrate must be:
Sufficiently strong to support the roofing system
Uniform
Sound
Smooth
Free from sharp edges or protrusions
Clean and dry
Free from grease, bitumen, oil, dust, or loose materials
If dust is present, it must be completely removed before installation.
