Mapecoat TNS Comfort
Highly Flexible Acrylic Sports Flooring System for Tennis, Padel, and Pickleball Courts
Mapecoat TNS Comfort is a multi-layer sports flooring system made from water-based acrylic resins combined with specially selected fillers. It is installed together with Mapecomfort R, a high-performance prefabricated rubber granule mat, to create a flexible, comfortable sports surface with excellent impact absorption. The system is suitable for indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including both new installations and the renovation of existing surfaces.
The system can be installed over previously coated surfaces or properly prepared new bituminous and cementitious substrates. The properties of Mapecomfort R help reduce impact during movement, enhance playing comfort, and allow players to change direction quickly and safely.
When used with 6 mm thick Mapecomfort R, the Mapecoat TNS Comfort system can achieve performance in accordance with EN 14877, classified as SA 11–19, indicating a shock absorption capacity ranging from 11% to 19%.

Surface Preparation
Before installing the system, the substrate must be thoroughly inspected to ensure it has sufficient strength for the intended use. It must be free from dust, loose or delaminated areas, fats, wax, oil stains, existing resin residues, old paint, or chemicals that could reduce the adhesion of the coating system.
For concrete substrates, the presence of an appropriate moisture vapor barrier should be verified. If this cannot be confirmed, a suitable product should be used to prevent blistering or delamination of the rubber mat. If the substrate has a residual moisture content between 3% and 6%, the product documentation recommends using Triblock P, a three-component epoxy-cementitious moisture barrier.
For new bituminous substrates, the product documentation recommends an asphalt layer with a minimum thickness of 3 cm and an aggregate particle size of 0–6 mm. After laying the asphalt, a waiting period of approximately 20–25 days is recommended to allow the bitumen to oxidize properly before installing the system.
Precautions
The substrate must be sound, smooth, clean, and free from contaminants before installation
Concrete substrates should have an appropriate moisture vapor barrier
If the substrate has a residual moisture content of 3–6%, Triblock P should be used as a moisture barrier
New bituminous substrates should be allowed to oxidize properly before installing the system
Application temperature should be between +15°C and +35°C
Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point
Follow the Technical Data Sheet of each product used in the system
For applications involving substrates, weather conditions, or intended uses that differ from those specified in the documentation, consult the MAPEI Technical Department before starting work
