Surface Preparation
Before installing the system, the substrate must be inspected to ensure its suitability for the intended application. It must have sufficient strength to withstand service loads, be dry, smooth, free from loose or delaminated materials, and have an appropriate slope for rainwater drainage.
Concrete substrates must be cured for at least 28 days, be free from rising moisture, and have a residual moisture content not exceeding 3%. Bituminous or asphalt substrates must be cured for at least 15–20 days. The surface must be dry, smooth, and free from loose or delaminated materials.
Concrete substrates should be prepared using mechanical methods, such as shot blasting or diamond grinding, to remove contaminants, weak cement paste, and unsound materials. The surface must then be thoroughly vacuum-cleaned before applying the system. If the substrate has a residual moisture content not exceeding 3%, Mapecoat TNS Primer EPW should be used. If the residual moisture content is between 3% and 6%, Triblock P should be applied as a moisture barrier.
Precautions
The substrate must be inspected for strength, dryness, smoothness, and appropriate slope before installation
